The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a nonprofit organization that helps those living in poverty, will sponsor the 11th Annual Friends of the Poor® Walk/Run on Saturday, September 8 to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Bates Nut Farm.
The event is held each September, near the feast day of the Society’s patron, St. Vincent de Paul, who ministered the poor in Paris in the 17th century. The local Walk/Run is being sponsored by St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church.
All proceeds and donations from the event will directly benefit the people in the Valley Center and Pauma Valley areas served by SVdP, and there are no administrative fees associated with the event. Anyone interested in learning more, participating, or making a pledge
