Event: Valley Center Fire Department's Fire Safety Exposition

Description: Please save the date for the special fire prevention safety exposition that will kick off national fire prevention month (October, 2016) on Saturday, October 8th, 2016, starting at 10:00 AM through 4:00 PM. This event will be held at Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center in conjunction with a popular weekend of public pumpkin picking along with many other fall farm activities.
We are expecting thousands of people to be at Bates Nut Farm to pick their family pumpkins and to participate in the Valley Center Fire Department's Fire Safety Exposition. There will be fire engine rides on the same route as the hay rides. Everyone will get a chance to handle a portable fire extinguisher, learn lifesaving CPR in minutes, see the jaws of life in action being used on car crash simulations. There will be safety booths set up by CHP, SD Sheriffs, CalFire, Cleveland National Forest, the Burn Institute, Red Cross, TIPs, Mercy Medical, Mercy Air with their helicopter, CERT, Local animal rescue (DAS-VC-DART), San Pasqual Reservation FD, Escondido FD Volunteers, SDG&E (capstone) and the VC Fire Association.
Local fire equipment and antique fire equipment will be on display all day.
