Description: Families can start a new Christmas tradition at Bates Nut Farm with the 5th annual “Christmas in the Valley”, presented as a gift to the community by Valley Center businesses, organizations, schools, churches and volunteers. Local non-profit Promote Valley Center is the sponsor.

Saturday will feature live entertainment, the Gingerbread House contest, pony rides, petting corral, slide, crafts, gingerbread house making, balloons, face painting, bike corral, crafts and more. Christmas carols and a Polar Express Hay Ride to visit Santa, all free of charge. Round 2 of the "Christmas Voice" singing contest will take place, and the winners will be announced. The Gingerbread House contest winners will also be announced.

Many thanks to the numerous volunteers who have made this event possible including Promote Valley Center, Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians, San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians, the Valley Center Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Valley Center Princesses, Paul the Balloon Man, the Valley Center Lions, Rotary Club of Valley Center, Kiwanis Club of Valley Center, the Valley Center Optimist Club, Dos Valles Garden Club, and the Mountain Bike Association.

Enjoy Christmas shopping at Bates, Farmer's Daughter, and with the vendors who will set up for the 2-day event. There will be plenty of unique gifts for each person on your gift list.

Food will be available for purchase from What's Cookin' BBQ and the Valley Center Optimist Club.
