Rolling British Car Day (RBCD) is a chance for British car owners to enjoy driving their cars on some of San Diego’s finest Back roads and meet for a picnic at Bates Nut Farm at 11:30am. $20 per vehicle - payable at the start of the driving.
Instead of the usual car shows, where sparkling, polished cars are rolled out on the grass for all to admire, this event is about taking your cherished car out to enjoy doing what it was designed for - DRIVING whether yours is a show car or a “diamond in the rough” with patina earned over the years.
The premise of the rolling car day is based on a philosophy that leads to a happy life, and that is …. it’s more about the journey than the destination. To this end, we have selected a destination ideal for a picnic. We have selected a couple of good routes to get there on several scenic roads. To make it available to as many local British car enthusiasts as possible, we select two starting points, one in the North of San Diego and another in the South.
This year our final destination is Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center. The Northern Route starts from the Carlsbad Windmill and the Southern Route starts in El Cajon. There is no pre-registration, so join one of the starting points at 9:00am, and all drivers will be required to bring CASH to their selected start point where each driver will be provided with written route instructions.
