For over 20 years, friends and families have enjoyed designing and building a scarecrow to exhibit in the Bates Pumpkin Patch. This year, why not join in the fun? You or your group can start your own fall tradition. Your scarecrow can be any theme you like—traditional, scary, a movie character, even your favorite teacher! Each entry will receive a free Jack-O-Lantern pumpkin and a certificate of participation. All scarecrows will remain on display until October 25th. Bring your scarecrow and completed entry form (available on our website or at our office) to Bates before 10 a.m. Saturday, October 12th. Cash prizes and Bates Gift Certificates will be awarded. Awards will be presented at 1:00 on Saturday, October 12..

Bates Nut Farm started with walnuts, but now purchases nuts from all over the world. Pistachios, pecans, cashews, peanuts, pignolias, sunflower seeds and much more can be purchased on the farm. The nuts come raw, roasted, some spiced up and unsalted. To ensure quality and freshness we roast and package our nuts on the farm. The Bates family takes pride in providing a quality product at a fair price. It’s part of the tradition.
